This course EDUC 8823 has proven quite effective and relevant, thus far. I can see the potential of this application–Blogging, in the schools at multiple levels. Students can post, present, discuss and analyze comments and textual submissions online. Blogging can also prove to be a valuable research tool, as well. Students can be given a topic, discuss it online, and add relevant material to the Blog–ongoing. I need to see if it could serve as an electronic portfolio. Interesting…This course has opened up another, parallel world for me in education. Boy did I miss a lot of opportunities to reach my students! I can be so much more effective now. This year, my students will be rewarded with more resources to access and develop information. I believe this will empower them to participate, and seek more on their own.

Stephania , I too appreciated that this course made me more aware of ways to enrich student learning. That I had used this tool (blogging) for a good 3 years, and it never occurred to me that it was a collaborative tool is remarkable.

Sometimes things are so class to us, that we…”can’t see the forest for the trees.” I have learned to use all of my available resources in many ways. I think we have so many things, that we ae often overwhelmed, and stick with the tried and true learning tools and resources.

I share your views totally. Tools like this are adding incredible potentials to teaching and learning. Journal through life, keeping a continuous trail of events, learning and records are all very powerful. Can’t beat this. It requires that initial setup and you are on your way integrating the use of this constructivist tool for collaboration on projects in education. Students love it and respond well to it.

Research tools,
I never thought of using blogs as a sort of research tool. I could possibly even use it for my KAM. As relevant information is found, it could be added to a blog or wiki really. The potential use of these devices as research tools are really something to think about. Others could comment adding ideas that take your research and thoughts into different directions. The collaboration and feedback could be priceless.

When I initiɑlly commented I clicked the “Notify me when new comments are added” сheckbox and now each time a comment is added I get three e-mails with the same comment.
